Does the e36 mirror glass interchange with the e30?

I need to know if I can take mirror glass from an e36 and put it into an e30's mirror housing easily. Anybody ever tried this?

Are you talking about the side mirrors?

The short answer is no. E30, E36 (non-M3) and E46 (non-M3) side mirrors are all the same shape, but they mount differently. The E36 and E46 mirrors snap in, whereas the E30 mirrors use a ring-type mount.

I think you can use seven or five series glass

You can used any type of mirror glass as long as it has been federalized.
