I'll be genuinely shocked if the next gen M3 gets under 3400lbs. I can see the next 1 series getting a decent weight reduction since the current one was based off a 3 series chassis.

True, I was just mentioning the Mini Cooper S since its still a blast drive and has quite a bit of interior space.

Did we forget the current 135i already has a 300hp twin-turbo inline 6 and a nice M Package available? What's all the fuss over a silly 4 cylinder?

Same power, but weighing ~2800 lb. Huge difference.

Man it will be the end of an era if they use V6 over the inline 6. Granted Im sure they will have a valid reason for doing so, but either way.
