    Machine shop costs?

    Hot tank an engine $60.00

    Cylinder Head $20.00

regrinds and variety of other services at a scarey industrial park near me. Comparable costs?

Not lapping the valves, I'll do that myself. I was talking cleaning costs. I have access to tools and equipment.

The machine shop I take my stuff to charges
        $12 to clean a head
        $24 to surface a head
And they quoted me $250 to port out both sides of a 6 cylidner BMW head but not to polish.
Not sure about blocks as the m30 is the first on hottankable I've had but It didn't need any work.

The machine shop charged us $200 to clean and pressure test the head for my cosuin's mini truck. They probably surfaced it, but they didn't do anything I would really call "work" on it.

thats whats you realize you live on an island!!
20 to clean a head is decent... labor is 70-90hr here for a machine shop, so it gets expensive.
