    How about dash repair?

We have a guy who comes to my shop and fixes dashboards fro insurance companies.

Freeky old hippie dewd, nice guy and all....awesome work.

I think cracked E30 dashes are a damn near limitless supply here, and he is willing to repair/re-texture and respray dashboards to make them look all new again.

What do you guys think? Would this be worth the hassle? He is thinking like $175ish, plus shipping.

I am gonna grab a dash or three and see what he comes up with.

    Luke

That would be awesome, Luke. I'd love to see someone that could repair E30 dashboards, since good condition ones are getting more scarce all the time.

He is not re-wrapping, he is doing actual vinyl repair.

but either way its worth it, because who says the "perfect condition" one you just bought isnt gonna shit out in a couple of years. where as these might last another 20

I think for the money, I'd rather wrap my dash in leather.
But yeah, that would cool to have someone on tap that can fix a dash!

Good luck finding a place to wrap a dash in leather for $175. The leather alone would cost that.

I'm interested to see pictures of the final product.

Watching what the guy did to a huge knife gash on an '05 Yukon blew my mind...perfect paint match, flawless texture match (crumpled aluminum foil FTW!) it just looked perfect.

So who has a spare cracked dash? I needs it for free!

I have one if you want to pay to ship it. I am sure you can find one more local.

Lo and behold. For the first time in E30 history, we seek a cracked dash. Oh the irony.

my concern is, once a dash gets to the condition of showing a crack or two, its all over. more will appear due to the rest of the dash being in the same condition, ready to split.

is there a guarantee of some sort?

i dunno, maybe i'm wrong but i would be PISSED is i just installed a repaied dash and it obtained a new crack soon after.
