    Why would this happen?

Opening my hood is a two-man job. One person is needed to pull the hood lever in the car and another is needed to slide the hood open simultaneously. It wont open if I pull the lever and then walk around to open it.. Sorry if this is a noobish question but it's something that i need to know.

hood is spring loaded where it connects to to radiator support. That's what causes it to spring forwards. You either need to lube it, or unbolt bracket from radiator support and put spring mechanism back in place.

Yes, that's the stuff. The Castrol Super Clean is in a purple jug, but there is an off-brand one called, "Purple Power".

I usually use Gunk, but they do the same thing.

EDIT: oh, and there is also a hood shock on the passenger side of the hood. If its worn, the hood won't slide forward and won't stay up very well on its own.
