Went for a drive the other day, see here: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=135356. The car now has a little over 88k on it, everything works except the power top but the part I need for that shipped today (drive rod snapped).
I bought the car about 6 months ago now I guess...since then, I've done:
Timing belt and tensioner
All new belts
New water pump
Fan clutch
All new hoses
All new fluids
Replaced all worn switches inside
Some other misc maintenance related stuff I can't think of
New Ziex 512 tires
Clifford alarm with prox sensor, hood and trunk pins
Shadowlined the trim
Removed Pin Stripe
Removed door bumper guards
Euro Grills
Euro smilies with city lights
55w 6000k HID lowbeams
Alpine CDA-9887
I'm heading down to Bimmerfest, but before then I'm also doing:
New rotors and pads (sitting here in a box)
New Roundels (sitting here in a box)
Before the picnic I'll hopefully have an IS lip and an oem windscreen, euro trim, euro plate filler and tinted clear turn signals...planning on getting a hard top before next winter and then going to work on a complete suspension overhaul. It's a slow project, but I'm trying to be patient...
Anyway, here's the pics:
Had to stop at a car wash after this location, got mud all over it...
2 MILF's tried to buy my car while here...$7k? Tempting, but no way.
Spotted this uhm...thing...on the drive too.
What do you guys think? I know it's not as drastic of a project as many on here, but I'm focusing on maintaining (and raising) the excellent condition while doing some tasteful mods to improve functionality and modernize it.
