ohhh man you gotta start a thread after its painted and re-assembled. Is it genuine or replica?

And how did you get the black bare by the window off? Hard to tell what Im talking about but when you open the door its the black plastic bar farthest away from the trim, its a vertical bar right above the door handle. I used forever black on it a long time ago and it made it look like shit and I want to repaint them but I don't know how to take them off

First, carefully pry up and remove the horizontal trim at the top of the door. It helps if you first remove the rearview mirror-forgot about that. Next, roll the window down into the door and then start pulling down on the rubber channel that the window rides in. You will then see the small metal clips that hold the vertical trim piece and the curved horizontal piece at the top of the door. Take a small screwdriver and press in on the middle section of the clip and it will release the trim. They are hard to press, but with a bit of practice it is easy.

Now regarding the horizontal curved piece of trim at the top of the door-I cannot recall if it absolutely has to be removed in order for the vertical piece to come off-try removing the vertical piece first, and you will soon find out if the horizontal piece needs to come off too.

I just sanded down my vertical pieces with 320 grit paper, then self etched primed them. Next, I sanded the primer with 600 grit paper and painted with with Duplicolor trim paint. They came out looking brand new.
