And another at JGrady from turbobricks shop.. he's a boss.

    UPDATE (03.07.10):

I recently bought a "new" m20 from some dude in Flatbush. I'm just going to refresh it with new gaskets and seals, then a quick paint job. Here she is:

So, the jackass who I bought it from tried to take the headers when I went to pick the thing up. He gave up when he stripped the fuck out of one of the nuts. A little heat and an "easy-out" did the trick. Did I mention that he is a jackass?

I never heard the engine run and it came out of a decent looking car, so I was a little apprehensive at first. Nothing seems out of the ordinary, though. No sludge:

Here is all of the crap that came with it. If you guys need anything, let me know (Harley Davidson scooter is not for sale):

And just so we are all clear, when there's is an e30 in the shop, all others must wait.

    UPDATE (03.13.10):

Just visited Guten Parts for the first time and picked these up:

    Thanks guys!

Don't know how to explain, but driving E30 is like having sex with a girl of your dreams, but the girl is a bit inexperienced, so you have to show her what to do and she will do it beautifully! ohhh man... after I got the 5sp tranny in it, it is all new love all over again! :)))

              UPDATE (03.14.10):

I found something rather discomforting while working on the engine today. One of the pistons was saturated with oil. At first I thought that it may have just seeped into the chamber from the engine being upside down. That became less likely when I noticed that the corresponding exhaust port on the head was also covered in oil saturated carbon. None of the other pistons seemed to have this problem, so I'm thinking that the piston needs new rings.

Below you can see what I'm talking about. The cylinder at the front of the engine is totally wet, while the one at the rear is bone dry. Sorry for the crappy pic

I didn't want to think about rebuilding the bottom end, so instead I started putting the final touches on the valve cover. It still needs some work, but I think that it is coming out great!

              Up next, the intake manifold...

                      Nice!!

I miss having an m20, i kind of just want to buy one so I can repaint my valve cover and intake manifold again in a wrinkle finish, definitely the cleanest route to go!
