A few days ago I bought a one owner 1990 325i 4dr for a thousand dollars. The color is gletscherblau and the interior is gray. I posted the links for a couple of pictures below. One of these days I am going to get smart enough to figure out how to post them in the tread but probably not anytime soon. lol The car has about 190,000 miles and it is an automatic. The engine and transmission both run strong. I wasn't crazy about the slushbox at first but it's kind of growing on me. The car is not as doggy with the auto as I imagined it would be. Right off the line it is a little sluggish but after that it pulls hard.
I got a ton of maintenance records with the car. The timing belt was just changed last August. I plan on changing all of the fluids. I noticed the power steering fluid needs to be changed when I checked the levels the other day. The drivers side door handle and trim were both broken when I bought the car but the previous owner had purchased both but had not put them on so I did it the next day. I also noticed the trim around the drivers side rear door is broken but my parts car has a good one that I can change out.
All of electrical switches for the windows work. The power antenna works. The sunroof works. The fog lights work. I was pleasantly suprised when I discovered they weren't broken and they worked. the fog lights work. A brake warning light is on but I think it is a bad sensor because the car has good brakes. The drivers seat has a couple of tears but they are not in the usual place on the side bolster. The tears are on the inner side of the bottom cushing.
The paint is wearing through on the roof, the trunk, and a few little spots on the car but for twenty year old paint it is not bad. The car has spent its entire life in California and Texas so there is not any rust on the car anywhere. There is a dent on the hood about the size of a baseball and someone back into something and scraped/dented the drivers side rear quarter panel.
Overall I think it is going to make a great driver until I get my iS back on the road.
