As far as how people react, I suspect that without the magic of photoshop and fancy lighting, most people just dismiss him as an idiot driving an ugly car.

There isn't a lot of Photoshop done to his photos, nor fancy lighting. 'Normal' pictures to you may be ones you took in a Wal-Mart parking lot with your Kodak point-and-shoot in the middle of the day. His photos exhibit what happens when you use a decent camera in good natural lighting with minor post processing (same techniques can be done when exposing film, so not that fancy).

This car is not WORTH painting. I don't have the money to paint it. It would be a bad decision to do a budget paint job on it.

SoWo was one of the better small shows I've been to.

Looks like you were having a blast too, walking around begging people to tell you how cool your car is, then shrugging it off coyly and moving on to the next group. It was kind of like the endless flood of superfluous threads you're always peppering enthusiast sites with, but in person. Pretty neat.
