Ya in the recent issue of bmw magazine I read, a guy bought a e34 5 series touring and converted it to look like an euro touring m5 in alpine white and i thought it looked great.

When I saw a real e34 m5 touring I was really interested and took a few extra pictures. Purple and yellow are not my first pick but a cool car none the less

I myself am a fan of back to black as well

yeah i'm a fan of keeping the original plastics, and keeping them looking good w/o using paint.
i had to use the btb about 5 times giving it time to soak in between coats the first time i used it. its a lot like waxing though, needs the maintenance.

I dont think sport max makes anything in 5 lug and this car deserves respect

This is a car I've had for about 4 years. Have been building it over the last year solid. started out as a '90 325i 174,000mi but started over about a year ago on a '87 325e i had sitting around with straighter chassis and black paint.
engine mods
*3.2l stroker m20: knife edge s52 crank, 138mm h-beam rods, 11.5:1 forged 86.4mm low pro pistons with surface turbulance(from MM), ported MM head with surface turbulance,cam: 290 intake 275ex. 10.5 lift, metric blues, ported blueprinted oil pump, 12lb "e" flywheel, 535i clutch disk, s52 pressure plate. ~$6000 worth every penny..(especially the MM head) 260bhp @ ~5800rpms, 250 tq @ 3800rpms on stock motronic and AFM with 24lbers and 50psi. (redline 20w-50 motor oil)

currently running on megasquirt I V3.0 standalone with wasted spark, knock sensor, m30 throttle body, 30lbers, and long tube headers with ** exhaust, xtra oil cooler(flows through origional cooler then through xtra 1/2qt cooler) adds a whole xtra qt with xtra plumbing as well. probably up around 280+hp $1000

i also converted to a getreg 250 from e36 with closer ratios and am running a 3.25lsd.


suspension/brakes
5 lug conversion from (318ti trailing arms, hubs, rear brakes) (reg. e36 front spindles, brakes with turner slotted rotors)...~$1000 well worth it for larger brakes and allow for wider/larger wheel selection:17X9 with 255/40 rcomps. ~$2000 super well worth it, makes this car unreal.

e30 m3 brake master cylinder w/motul racing brake fluid.~$200 great brake response and necessary with larger cc calipers.

e36 control arms and custom solid control arm mounts with spherical bearings to correct caster with e36 spindles.~$150 necessary for front 5 lug to work properly and amazing turn in feel.(maybe a little too harsh for constant street driving and possible excessive tie rod end wear)

custom sway bars/adjustable links. 1" solid chromoly front bar with custom reinforced mounts, 3/4" solid chromoly rear bar with custon floor pan reinforced mounts and reinforced @ trailing arm mounts as well. ~ $200. the best suspension mod on the car

all uerathane mounts(trailing arms, rear subframe, motor/trans/sways, delrin diff mount.)~$150 a necessity for track and high horsepower applications.

custom adjustable rear camber/caster provisions with some nifty welding and e36 eccentric bolts.~$15 helps the back end to be a lot more stable under hard acceleration by correction toe and also by increasing traction by nuetralizing excessive negative camber when lowered.

previously ran IE stage 3 springs with koni sports, which I recommend for street and normal wheel tire sizes(too soft for me now). now running full GC coil overs with some custom e36 housings for the front. 1500ish

Body work
evo m3 front bumper cover/valence w/custom made splitter.~$300
haaman rear bumper cover.~$250
modest wing, not sure what it is. $100
m3 looking sideskirts.~$150
all above was very generic and a royal pain to install but looks sick.

super flared fenders to accomadate huge wheel/tire combo with app. 6-8" wider wheel base.~ manual labor, nessecary for beforementioned mods and looks insane.
