To continue this thread of awesomeness:


pulled the head today to see how many valves were bent.

First up was the upper timing case cover


Then noticed a chunk missing out of the cam gear


pulled the head and flipped it over to check the valves and noticed some missing lol


apparently they weren't too happy about being set free


found them!


there's 2 chilling under the coolant in cylinders 2 and 5 as well


I seriously just laughed as soon as I saw them sticking out of the pistons- they look like little mushrooms. How they managed to break off, flip over and embed themselves in the pistons in the span of 3 seconds just amazes me.

So it looks like I'm in need of a new m30.
