not at all, if you look closely, there is a cutout in the skidplate where the drain plug is, for easy access. no need to remove the plate.

I like the M3 antenna.. Does it actually work? Or is it just for looks?

I've been thinking of doing the same, because I have never had any luck with the piece of shit electric antennas.

of course it works, i wouldnt do it otherwise. my radio put the power antenna up everytime the radio was on, not just when i turned on the AM/FM stuff, so while i was playing CD's the antenna would be up, supid... so i got this antenna for free, and i can sell my perfectly working power antenna and make some money. i see no downsides.... it's not the easiest thing to install, you need to at least know what your doing with the sunroof, you have to take apart a lot of stuff.

except for the awesome hole you'll have in the trunk section when you take out the power one.

I think the next "mod" should be a full repaint for consistency :D

                nice additions anyways dude.

Yeah, what did you do to plug the hole where the antenna was on the rear fender?

What's to wiring the M3 antenna?

im just gonna make a plug for the hole, nothing fancy, i dont really care, function over form, right now the old antenna is still in there, just unplugged, whatever.

chris, i would love paint, but i dont care enough, this thing WILL be a track rat eventually, too many imperfections, paint being the biggest one, whatever....

as to wiring it, its just an antenna wire from tha antenna down the side of the pass A-pillar, thru the dash, into the back of the radio, nothing crazy, but you need to remove most of the sunroof stuff.

As usual Dan, I love your car. The seats look awesome, so does the steering wheel and shift knob obviously.

                      Keep it up.

Why're you doing all of these luxury upgrades (heated seats, power roof, maplight mirror, m3 antenna...) if the car is going to be a track rat?
