Update: A new (E46) horse in my stable! (Pictures)

Well, after balking on the RSX Type S (more on that later) and passing on the Jetta turbo, I found a gem in a 1999 328i! I found it at the BMW Store (dealer) here in Cincy. I closed on it yesterday and I absolutely love it! It has every option except the HK system, and Navigation, both of which I don't miss. It's black on black leather, wood trim, sport suspension with 17" wheels, self-leveling HID's and more buttons than I know what to do with. It's also has certified Dinan stage 2 performance software and carbon fiber intake installed by BMW. It's fast as hell in comparison to my 325is as the power is so effortless. And it was plenty faster than the Jetta turbo and RSX. Overall, I am very happy with it and plan to add some fun mods to it as time goes on!
As for why I didn't go for the Acura RSX Type S? Well, I test drove a 2004 Jetta GLI 1.8T 2 weeks ago and was very impressed. I then imediately test drove the Acura....I felt like I was driving a sewing machine. It felt so anemic and unwilling to rev in comparison. I am sure the over 40lb/ft of torque difference was part. I was so dissapointed, but I guess it all worked out. I am about to have my E30 worked on for the last time before I put it on the market. Fortunately a friend wants to buy it, so I could at least ask her for a ride for old time sakes! There is no comparison between the both my BMW's, but they are both so unique. I am really going to hate seeing my E30 go.

Agree with most your comments minus the RSX being "unwilling to rev". They rev great(although they do sound a bit sewing machine-ish). Nothing a Hondata ECU flash and an intake wouldn't fix.

Not a big fan of the E46, but at least it's not one of the facelifted ones with the lame headlights.

So are you going to sell the E30?

I'll be honest I had a passing interest in the E46 until I saw this car. I guess I can't say that now, but I agree with your sentiment. Yes, I will be selling the E30. Hopefully soon, but I need to have some things done to it first (bushings & such)

Nice car! I don't mind the E46! To date, it's probably one of the best 'modern' looking BM's!

Not a bad looking car. For the money spent to mod, the Jetta can eat that e46 up all day long.

(Smiling) Thanks for compliment, but where did the other comment come from? You might want to go easy on that "Haterade." Honestly I could care less about a modded Jetta, as I have no interest in petty squabble. You are probably right, dollar for dollar, you can mod a Jetta to be faster than every E30, E36, and most E46's. But it's a FWD car and that will never change once you hit a sharp corner ;-) I thought you would've figured that out by now, lol. Besides, I was looking for comfortable cruiser with style & performance, and I found it. If I wanted to "eat someone up all day long, I'd get an HPA Golf Stage II or III and walk laps on everyone! Now there is a beast!
