    OMFG I'm a new member!!!!

I've been lurking for a long long time, long enough to feel kind of creepy. I've decided to surface.

I bought my '89 325i 2 door 5 speed about a year ago. I actually bought it for my girlfriend and then decided she probably won't be able to drive it due to..

    1. She can't drive stick and I don't think I have the patience to teach her
    2. Even if she learned, stiff clutch and weak girl legs are fail
    3. I fell in love with it ;/

My DD for the past 18 months has been a 1995 Lexus SC400, which I love as well but they are more expensive to mod and less of a pleasure to drive. The BMW is fun even stock, I'd have to spend 10k on the Lexus to be happy driving it. My first car was a '77 530i (E12) and I've always been a fan of BMW.

So, over the past year I've addressed a few maintenance issues. I've done plugs, wires, injectors, valve cover gasket and a couple other little things I can't remember right now. The Odometer died at 185,XXX before I bought it and there's a timing belt sticker that says it was serviced at 185,XXX.. So who knows. It is running a little rough still so I'm wondering if I need an FPR because I'm using Bosch 19# Mustang injectors. O2 sensor and then timing belt and hopefully between those 3 things we'll be running right. I have plenty of power and it idles strong, just rough and a little bit sputtery?

I don't know if you guys have heard but the economy kind of sucks.... With that I lost my fancy mortgage job, so for now I can only afford DIY modifications and Top Ramen. I've got a few DIY projects lined up for next week to include glowing shift knob, Type R emblems, tinting the headlights and finding a way to put my old Buddy Club GrOuNd EffEcTz kit on from my old honda...

LOL I JK'D YOU. but rly, going to do the "Hella" smoked ellipsoids, Smoke the tails, do a PAINTED JUNKYARD MAKEOVER (first ever painted Volvo lip + Taurus skirts c-c-combo?) to include stripping and painting the front and rear valance. The paint is shiny from the trim up but dirty and faded below, I plan to get the car resprayed within the year but I think I can pull off a good looking DIY paint job on the bumpers, valances, lip and skirts by prepping right and using SprayMax 2k clearcoat. Oh and I shadowlined it last week and plastiDIP rocks!

Obviously I have long term plans that include but are not limited to 24v swap, sport seats, real paint job and real exterior parts, suspension rebuild, sexy stance and spinnerz.

Now I will shut it up. Here's pics from a couple weeks ago and I'll post after pics when I'm done with the aforementioned DIY's.

Yeah I know.. another red 2 door..

And cause I'm sure someone might ask..

    Too new for sig

                Gross.

Clean car. To be honest I'd keep it stock with an I lip and lower it on some tasteful wheels.

                EDIT:

NVM, didn't see the crack in the dash. Paint it flat black and turn it into a rat rod. Then add a huge wing, purple wheels, a shitty motor swap and white trash neighbors.

Yeah I'm not sure what to do about the dash. There was some talk about Eurostop making a carbon fiber dash cap in one of the GB threads. I'd have to see how it looked. TBH I like the red and I'm thinking bronze or gold wheels, but.. red is kind of done.. It looks good, but it's done. I'm really liking the idea of a clean black semi-gloss/satin that's done right, with bronze wheels. Rat Chic?

That way I could justify spending $400-$500 on materials and renting a compressor and renting a downdraft paint booth for a day for $250 and painting it myself. I wouldn't trust myself with a high gloss but with a semi-gloss or satin, I think with the right prep it would be pretty hard to screw up. Just dismantling almost the entire car to get to all the red would be difficult and perhaps above my skill level.. I ponder.
