I contacted paintscratch.com when I did my E34 wheels and the match is very good. I ended up using two cans.

best you don't do the taurus skirt/volvo lip combo since I am the junkyard makeover master! (no flame suit needed, I like it hot) 8)

you know what though, your car looks awesome with the volvo lip and I think it's just because it's black. I couldn't see the volvo lip looking good painted for some reason, plus I cut too much off of it so I wouldn't have been able to mount it without using tons of glue.

The skirts will look good i'm just going to mount them a bit higher, right under the door crack. I shaved down that step that's on the top edge, so it should look more smooth.

Yeah I think i'll just do the paintscratch.com thing, not worth risking total failure just to save a few bucks. Thanks for reminding me.

Also, probably not the place for this but whatever. If anyone has a line on a clean M50 E34, I'm interested. Girlfriend needs a car since I stole hers.

Thanks for being kind, lol. The lip and skirts are painted, but I agree black wears this "kit" much better than other colors. Paintscratch is a great site, but if you don't mind single stage paint you can get a local paint shop to put OE color codes into a rattle can for much cheaper.

Mount the skirts low, they look better low. They must be LOW... Otherwise they look big and chunky. Look at the taurus thread all the nice jobs imo are mounted right where the rock guard starts. Either way I want to see what they look like with the step on them removed.

On the black car you don't have to deal with the contrast of the black from the body color. That lip actually looks like it belongs on your car. Some of the other cars i've seen with different colored paint and black volvo lips just don't look right. And I don't think i've seen one that was painted body color that wasn't black. I just don't think i'd like it. The volvo lip was a temporary fix for me anyway so I just skipped ahead a bit and went for the IS lip.

On the paint, thank you for the suggestion. I didn't think about that, i was only thinking of the urethane paint I bought, but I bet i can get some single stage enamel mixed and canned for a lot cheaper and not have to wait for a shipment. Thanks!

I'm definitely going to play around with different positions thatswhatshesaid. I know if you mount them higher then they don't tuck under quite as well, so I'll see what I can do about that, if anything. I just don't like the idea of having the line under the door and then the line where the skirts meet the car, it makes my OCD tingle. I suppose, though, that the chunkiness of the skirts mounted too high would bother me more, so I'll keep that in mind.
