I wouldn't bother me if it was 2X that amount.
There's $2500 worth of parts, and about 130 hours worth of repair.
What the pics don't show is the impact was hard enough to wrinkle the roof.
I wouldn't be surprised if it actually goes up once they're into it further.

Uh, am I the only one who is positively disgusted at the idea that someone will charge $10k to fix that amount of damage?Leave a comment:

Actually, there was very little conflict w.r.t fixing the car. The insurance company out of New Jersey hired a local adjustor to review the estimate ... they even went down the route of trying to source used parts. Knowing there's only a hand full of Tourings in North America, I let them explore the option. It didn'y take them long to realize that there are no used parts for Wagons here.
I had more trouble getting the rental car ... since I was going to be waiting for the parts for so long, they didn't want to pay for a rental for so long.
My rental is an 09 Dodge Avenger ... total POS. I'll need theropy by the time my car's doneLeave a comment:

So, after 3.5 weeks, things are finally happening with my car. I went by the body shop today - they had started pulling the back out - the rear quarter popped back into place - very little work is needed to straighten it. I wish I had my camera, next time.
I got the estimate as well... are you sitting down .... $10,946.94 - those are Canadian dollars, and there's 13% taxes. Add about 4 weeks of rental car and it's about $13K+ claim. Parts are about 2.5 weeks away.
I'll keep posting as things progress'....
