I was told that when you mob, and need to describe the size of your crew, you do not consider yourself in the count. So, unless you are pulling a utility trailer with a few people in the back, a riding lawnmower has zero mobbing capacity. Likewise, a McLaren F1 has the ability to mob two deep.

An E30 can legally mob up to four deep. In order to mob legally, you must supply a DOT approved passenger restraint system for each member of your mob. In an E30, that is three shoulder belts and a lap belt. You may increase the depth of your mob if you buy a touring, but the passengers in the cargo area will not be legally mobbing.

WHY would you care about "mobbing legally"?

You cannot mob effectively when you just earned seven click-it-or-ticket citations. After surrendering your IDs on a routine traffic stop, it's more than likely there will be at least one or two outstanding warrants on your crew.

Say you know this snitch is gonna be at his babymommas house at 10:30 pm on the dot for a lil' somethin' somethin'. Say you have a Touring, and you decide you need a big crew tonight. You roll deep, with a mob of six, with two guys in the cargo area. If the popos see you, you are DEFINITELY getting pulled over, and you're going to miss that 10:30 pm time window.

Now, I understand the idea that wearing restraints is a bad idea when you need to make a hasty egress to deal out some street justice. Well, you can unbuckle one block before you get to the hot zone.
