    finally got an e30

well ive been on the hunt for an e30 for a while and finally got one, not really what i had in mind but at least i have something. my dad went on a road trip recently and visited some family who actually had a 1990 325(i think its an IS) on sale for $900, so he decided to buy it for me and i paid him back. i had the intention of getting something in a bit better condition and in white so i wouldnt have to do too much to it but i guess it will become more personal now! after a quick drive i think the motor is alright as well as the tranny, the brakes are okish, the spedo and odo dont work, AC isnt working, and the parking brake is giving me some trouble, oh yeah the hood lever is broken also so i cant get a look of the motor. there are some rust spots that can be seen but im afraid that theres a lot more that i cant see. i definitely want to get rid of those rims lol, other than that i really dont know what i should do first since i never really worked on a car before, any ideas? also does anyone know of a good place that could take care of the rust and repaint the car in the miami area?

heres some pics, sorry if they arent that great:

Now you will learn like the rest of us. Perfect start and not a bad price for a late model I'd say. Where is ur rust? Looks like u have very little on the rear apron.

haha yeah i hope to do a lot, i just want to get her running well first and take care of the rust before i start modding or anything like that. other than the rust in the pictures, i did see some on the sunroof and on the hood, also on the passenger door and fender and i think i saw some behind the rear fender. i have to take a closer look later tho.

First off, looks great. Definitely get rid of those rims, then tackle the rust.

You've just got an i btw, not an is.
But at that price I'd say the car was well worth it.

                            To open your hood:

                            Get a long flat screwdriver
                            Remove driver side grill
You will see a slot on the hood mechanism
                            Stick in screwdriver, twist, viola
                            harry/harout

Paint those wheels black so they are less noticeable lol.

And those are more baller than "two" rovers in the driveway... More like His and Hers rovers lol.

As far as opening the hood... To the right side of the kidney grille, you will see the hood release mechanism, its a slot where a screw driver fits perfectly into. Dont even have to remove the grill to get to it (Thanks to FredK on that).
