Did some garage cleaning this last week.

    Still have this-

1984 318i. Dubbed the beater car and tester of random late night paint ideas.

    Sold-

1997 Lexus LS400 Coach Edition. Eibach springs/KYB shocks (at the time that was the only aftermarket shock available), smoked tail lights. Removed my Exile 12" sub and Kicker ZX750.1 which will go in the new car.

    Going away tomorrow-

1970 BMW 2002 with Korman Alpina wide body. Candy orange is just ridiculous.

    The new car and project-

It's a 1991 318i, diamond schwarz 5-speed. Always wanted a M42 powered car (outside the S14, this is the only factory E30 motor I actually like). Not the most powerful but man it's a fun motor to drive! Initially I bought the car as a parts car. But as soon as the damaged body panels were off I realized it was mostly replaceable parts. Some minor straightening on a few non-structural pieces and it'll be good to go! I can't bring myself to junk a nice late model sedan and they've always been my favorite, so I'm fixing and keeping it.

Project thread will be posted soon. Plans are mostly stock fix up for now. Definitely doing a full repaint on it since there is some clear coat pealing and it sat outside for a while. If the clear coat wasn't pealing I'd just buff it and call it good. Other than body panels, it doesn't need much fixed! It was well taken care of prior to the accident.

The Lexus was a great car and will always be one of my favorite luxury sedans, but I really miss a manual transmission and a light, great handling car. So away it went and now begins the project!

    Stay tuned...

Nice garage clean up. Judging by the work on that 2002, I can't wait to see the progress on the 318i.

This project is going to have a MUCH smaller budget than the 2002. I will be doing all the work myself this time so that gives me more room for parts. :)

I'm still undecided on a few aspects of the car. Once I figure out the total for parts I'll decide how far I'm willing to expand the budget. I need to stop looking at M Tech bumpers until then!

I'll admit right now: 1) I'm not a purist. Keep it clean, but not a OEM geek. 2) I love driving E30's, but not a typical E30 fan. Those will influence things like wheel choice as I move forward!

As long as you don't get like 26" chrome spinners. Your wheel choice should be alright.

          That 02 is fucking gorgeous.

26 is a little small for my taste.

Btw, this will NOT be a stanceworks style car. No poke and no stretch. I'm actually thinking about the 15x8 TRM wheels for the time being. Definitely fill out the fenders nicely but mostly cheap.

No worries bubba. I like how things worked out!

I'm picking out stereo gear right now... Time to get that project thread started since a bunch should be happening in the next week or two.

Bunch of parts ordered today. I'll get a project thread started soon....

Ordered fenders, hood, radiator, condenser, grill.

Fun stuff - PG RSD6cs component speakers to go with my Exile 12" sub. :D Gonna try out this front stage only set up for a while. I'm skeptical... we'll see.

Also have some SS brake lines coming in. Next up to order is Urethane engine and transmission mounts. Likely to have new wheels ordered as well.

Stoked to have it moving along, not stoked to start adding up the cost of the project.
