Just picked this up last night:

wall o' text:
After over a year and a half, the search is over. I just drove this 86 325es 5 speed home last night (75mph the whole way like it wasn't even trying). 195,000 on it, with a replacement engine at around 140,000 i think. It has the same production date as my old one, 3/86, which is kinda neat. Body is fairly clean but, being a michigan car all its life, it needs some rust repair, but not anything major. It's got a nice houndstooth sport interior in tan, which is actually a color i've come to prefer because i think it makes the interior feel bigger. Will try to get more pictures up by week's end.
Plans?
repair rust, possible full repaint in original color with either a late model plastic bumper swap with some original touches or painted euro bumpers. will probably remove the Zender rear wing and store it in a safe place. Unfortunately, the rear apron is damaged but I have a brand new Racing Dynamics one. The guy actually had the Zender side moldings and i got those too. Ugly as sin, though...
Keep the suspension stock because it feels solid and needs nothing and i don't want to go too crazy spending money.
get some weaves or clean bottle caps because i hate painted black centers. HATE THEM. And the tires are nice and i want to get use from them.
I have a 731 head laying around and the block from my old car and many 325i parts that may be of use someday...
Fix other odds and ends, mostly on the interior, throw in a nice sound system, and drive the hell out of it.
