Also, the 318is was never offered in blue, only in cab form.

I don't mean to be rude or anything but it was definately offered in blue and that's a fact. In fact, the E30 318iS was offered in five colours: Alpine White, Sterling SIlver Metallic, Brilliantrot Red, Diamond Schwarz Metallic Black and yes, also Lazur Blue Metallic. I just wanted to clear this up

BTW, I have had confirmation from BMW (which I did before buying the car) indicating that it is in fact a 318iS because I also used to find very few (if any) blue E30 318iS 's.

It could be confusion re: geographical options. I have seen colors in pics from you foreigners of colors and options that were never offered or rarely exercised in the States.

Pete, you may be right on that, although the blue is was never offered up here in Canada, only the 318 cab with matching blue-centre basketweaves. Thanks for the clarification.
