          You need bigger tires.

Instead of lowering it, I was looking to get a pair of 16x9 D90's, moving the rear 16x8's to the front (which have a taller tire), then stretching something crazy on the rear to give me the same height tire.

Rears are 195/45. Fronts are 195/40. Just ran outside and measured the rear diameter including tire and it was 23". Fronts are 22". So I could hide another .5" of wheel gap this way.

Damn those are both way too short for an E30! I had 195/45/16 on my 16x9 Type As and it was ridiculous. They look amazing on the wheel but the O.D. is way too short to fill an E30 fender the right way. If you like the shorter tires I would go with a 215/40 on the 9s and 195/45 on the 8s. Personally, I'm going to run 205/45 all around with 16x8.5 & 16x9.

Don't know how to explain, but driving E30 is like having sex with a girl of your dreams, but the girl is a bit inexperienced, so you have to show her what to do and she will do it beautifully! ohhh man... after I got the 5sp tranny in it, it is all new love all over again! :)))

I like a stretched look, but now I understand how E30s need a higher sidewall to fill the fenders. I am trying to use this site http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html to figure out what will match the rear.

What do you suggest if I get another 16x8? I just quickly looked on tex for a 16x9 and came up with nothing.

It took me about 3-4 hours to do the shadowline on my 4 door. I just used sheets of plastic to cover my car. That saved me a lot of time.

You should of just taken all the trim off to do the shadow line. It's easy to take off and put on a sedan.
