I have full coverage. my deduct is 500 but I can't even afford that right now since I got layed off from one of my two jobs.... which cut my pay by 66%

Claim it. Then do some of work yourself instead of having the body shop do it. When you get their quote there will be things on there you can have the insurance company pay for but not have the body shop do the work. Things like replacement grill and kidneys along with installation would already put a good sized dent in that $500 deductible. It will only cost you a few bucks and about 10min of your time to get a used grill and install it yourself. Bumper trim might be another one you can hold off on and do yourself later when you can afford it.
