coming from an 06 sti

i have to agree with you ^ the 08+ are sexy!

I didn't like em at first, but after seeing more and more of them, especially modded, then riding in one.... I want one in a very bad way.

I dont think you can even compare a e30, 1 or 3 series to a sti, they are not even the same type cars. With that said a sti or wrx is not for everyone but they are defiantly a good value for the money.

Lag isn't completely gone, but it's greatly reduced. The factory tunes are extremely conservative and a simple reflash loosens up power and spools the turbo faster. Add a downpipe, and you can flash stage 2 which is even more fun.

I had a full aps catless turboback, titek catless uppipe, k&n short ram, Cobb ap2 and a tune. Referring to what 87e30 mentioned about my old Sti most of the lag was gone but vastly different than driving a stock one.

Why would you pay 35 grand for a scooby? I would much rather by a new 3 or 1 series or maybe a new truck. And yes I stand by and still stay its a waste of money sence my car walks all over the scooby that comes to pir. Last I checked I have spent under 10k on my whole car and he has spent over 45k. 8-)

Um, I was replying to your post that the STi isn't worth the extra coin over the basic WRX, which it is. STis are cheaper out here than a 135i or a 3 Series - like 15-20+k (AUD), which buys a fuckload of mods to eradicate "lag" and pump a lot more speed into the things.

My RS was built for around $15k (USD), did low 12s on the strip with a full interior (subs, amps, the lot) and out-ran GT3 Porsches at the circuit. Does that mean a GT3 is a waste of money?

An STi plated diff in the back will fix that. Ken Block's STi doesn't go that sideways just because he has 500hp and an awesome hair stylist.

Yeah I walking state side not (aud sence I have no clue what cars sell for there) They are basicly the same price here. I dont really care what your sti did I still dont like them and I wont buy one. For the money I would just build a ws6 and walk all over an sti. I had the chance to buy one over my wagon but I didnt because its not worth it to me to dump 35 grand on a car that doesnt look that good and isnt what I enjoy.

Ha. I didn't have an STi - I had the Subaru equivalent of an S52 E30 (just faster :) ).

Sounds like you guys get screwed if the WRX sells for the same price as the STi.

I never said that. I said I would not pay for a gt3 not that I would take it over an e30. And no the wrx does not sell for the same but I didnt want to pay the extra 10 grand for a car thats not worth it plus having really high insurance. I think my e30 will have more then enough to stay with scooby with the few new things I have.
