How does the e30 do with H&R sports/races in there on that bowl?
I want to run the Shenandoah circuit, but after watching the in car of the stock ITR bottoming out when it gets the line wrong, I'm scared for my oil pan.

The car felt good in there with the wacky spring setup. The section coming into the bowl is pretty hairy though. There's a wide right hand sweeper onto the front straight (counterclockwise) where you're floored in 3rd and sliding. You put it in 4th just before you go under the bridge, then go over this blind crest (we called it the "ski jump") and literally catch air. The further to the right you go, the worse it is... and the more loose you'll be when you land the car! Keep your foot in it and get the car to the middle of the track and hit the rev limiter in 4th, then heel-toe down to 3rd and get into the ABS and cram the car left into that bowl. The car was loose on entry as it went from flat to banking, but you just just feed in throttle and hold the wheel to the left and look up and it sticks... until you exit the bowl about 6000rpm in 3rd.
I had no oil pan issues but it was otherwise hard on the car (right side tires particularly.) Shenandoah is very twisty, very technical, there are concrete barriers everywhere, and you do catch air and/or bottom out a couple times per lap (both directions.) It's as scary as it is fun!

BAD! NEVER STOP ON-LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;) Cool pictures. Was it an open session day or do you have 'ins' at the track?
It was an orientation/testing day with ~12 cars present, to figure out if our group is gonna run there next year. For 45 minutes we did nothing but drive from corner to corner, get out, and walk around. That's how I was able to stop on the banking and take pics :D

Where is that? I'm moving that way soon and that kinda looks like a kart trak. Being it's so small.
That's summit pt, there's a total of 3 tracks there. The main course, the Jefferson circuit, and the new "Shenandoah" track. It's about 65 miles outside of the NoVa/DC area in Jefferson County West VA.

It's the new "Shenandoah Circuit" at Summit Point Raceway, WV. It's like 2 miles long and 32+ feet wide everywhere, so it's not that small. No way karts will ever run there... motorcycles either... too many walls! More pics of the place and a track map are here:
Roughly $300/weekend for 6-8 sessions of 20-30 minutes each. Plus gas, plus tires, plus brakes, plus food, plus hotel... so plan on $1k+ per weekend realistically.
However it is without a doubt THE BEST money you can spend on your car - it will make you much faster than any modification... for a while at least :)

Just from watching this vid, it looks like a ton of fun, but yea, definetly more than a few pucker-inducing moments.
