Finally lowered my E28... Nice pics inside!!

    Hey guys-
well, I finally did it. I lowered my E28 tonight with bav-auto springs. I have bilstein heavy duty shocks and I put on new strut mounts front and rear. I am about to go test drive.
EDIT: PICS ARE BELOW!! Already I can tell it's much lower. The front springs were 4" shorter than stock and 1.5" shorter in the rear. I measured the car before lowering so now I can measure it after and see the actual drop, which should have been 1.25" all around but I am banking on getting more of a drop than that.

    Have a good night fellas!

          There ya go!
I was pleased to find the previous owner had recently installed Bilstein Heavy Duty springs on my car, so I didn't have to buy shocks. The springs were on sale at Bav Auto for $179 + $13 shipping. Thats the best mod around $200 I have done to this car (I havn't done much to the car at all yet though).

My next project is to repaint the car in my gargage. I already bought all my paint for a 2-stage Lachssilber re-spray. I have painted cars in the past, including most parts on my M3 so I feel comfortable in my ability to repaint the car properly. The body is really stright for the age/overall condition of the rest of the car, so I will only have to fix a few minor dents and some rust spots inside the trunk under the seal. I will then remove all the trim and spoilers to repaint it. I will paint the mirrors body-color and finally get this car to be one clean shiny color! Right now the paint is BADLY faded, although I made it look good in these pics it is a serious eye-sore when looking down on top of the car.

Anyhow, I hope to start the prepping process next week and finish prep next weekend with a hopeful etimate of painting it on the 19th of December. I am out of school now, so just having work in the daytime I can play with this at night and get it ready to go.

Let me know what you think of it!

PS: does anyone have any sport seat covers they want to sell? I am talking about the black leather that comes stock, I need at least a left and right upper bolster in black, if not more from a seat for parts. Let me know what you got!

That might be the finest example of a drop I have EVER seen on an E28. Absolutely PERFECT.

                        Wow, thanks guys!!
I like how it feels and looks. now I can romp the gas and it doesn't twist and lurch like an old muscle car anymore.
I will post many more pics when I finish the paintjob. I will try and get some good progress photos to show how to paint your car yourself and not be totally ghetto.

Jordan- can you move this to members rides for me?

That would be very, very, very, VERY awesome of you. You know I'd like to repaint my car myself, but unless my dad can get someone to let me borrow their paintbooth (which is unlikely), I'll have to do it in a garage. A sweet writeup would be seriously beneficial to plenty of people on this board! Do it up!

Good luck with your plans, and awesome E28! I love how it matches your E30 M3.

Thanks man... I wanted the cars to look similar to eachother, but its just my style and it happened to come together in that way.
One of these days I should throw my 18's on the E28 for shits and giggles... Maybe when I finish the paintjob and then I can drive the car home on the 18's for x-mas just for the sheer bling bling factor 8)
