    ka-put

so i was driving on a local road today just left the gas station, pulling out got it up to about..25mph..then wham batterylight oil light throw on, instantaniouslly for what ever reason i felt it comming, i immediately turned the ignition off and coasted to the shoulder. I thought i broke my pan? or something of that nature, no oil leaks, checked the dip stick, everything was good and level, check over the motor, everything looked fine. Hesitantly i snuck my arm in the car and cranked it for a second..(stupid) but i did. sounded like a motor with no compression. No knocking, no rumbling..which lead me to believe the timing belt went SNAP. My brother towed me home and i parked it up. i have yet to look at it. here are my thoughts..

pull valve cover, and check up top. who knows what could have happened.
pull timing cover and check the obvious.
if the belts done, then off with her head and inspect valves and piston tops. ugh, i hope it isnt ugly. like i said i didnt hear any kind of knocking or contact. thats the only thing i can set my thoughts to is a snapped timing belt. anyone have any suggestions.

Turn this into a good thing, you could go two ways now. Just grab another m20 for cheap or, since you need a new motor (or at least some new parts anyway), take this opportunity to go 24v and upgrade. DO Ettt!

Couldn't have been a normal belt snapping? Water pump seizing? Just seems like you are jumping to conclusions if you didn't hear anything out of the ordinary

sure guys u wana buy the wheels..just gimme $10,000 and their yours.

as for the motor, i pulled the valve cover and looked at the timing belt. sure enough belt went snapskees. i honestly think im just gonna put a new belt on with a water pump and tensioner and see what happens. i really think itll be fine. I know most of you think its a bad idea, but i think its a great one. haha if all else fails ill just throw another m20 in there..now the noob question begins..

its an eta. will an m20.b25 wire right up with an eta harness? or would a 2.7 bottom end -with a 2.5 head be a better idea.

I'll tell you for a fact that an eta wiring harness won't plug into your car's harness. I'm not positive on an i harness on an eta with an i head and accessories, as I've never done it. I have read that that works just fine.

Have you made a purchase from www.blunttech.com recently?
