    Finally moved it.

It's been a while since I've posted much progress on my E28 so here goes.

Finally started working on the Schnitzer car again. The car is dusty, dirty and in dire need of a wash (and a repaint too). I parked it inside last October and I've been putting off the Motronic 1.3/179 ECU Conversion for a while now and decided I should probably get cracking on it.

As you can see the car is missing the Driver's side grill and the horrible blue Euro low beam (yay!) that I had put on. I also decided to use the regular B34 valve cover instead of the B35 Schnitzer one, so just repainted that. Got a B35 fuel rail thanks to another member and installed that, only thing is that this car had the earlier 2-pin 533i ICV setup, so I just need the hose that runs from the Intake manifold to the 3-pin ICV and I'll be golden. Also have the B35 Spark Plug Wires to install so that has also helped. Once it is running on Motronic 1.3, I'll have a local tuner that did a lot of work on my dad's turbo M42 car tune the setup to match the engine.

In addition to those things, I also installed an E34 M5 Clutch setup with a JB Racing 8.5lb. Aluminum Flywheel, rebuilt shifter stuff, Z3 1.9 Shift Lever and Koni 22/16mm Swaybars. I won't be able to drive it once is snows and the roads are salted, but I'm really looking forward to driving this car next spring.

In addition to Schnitzer, I've been spending some time on my E30 as well. I recently added a SPAL 14" pusher fan to battle the overheating issue I've been having, and also a 4 point VSR bolt in roll cage for driving events next year. Also went in on White325is's Group buy over for supercharger brackets for E30M50s , so I may be doing that along with S50 cams once I get a little more $$ in my pocket. Also fixed back seats, 5 point harnesses, getting the ABS working, e36 m3 brake backing plates are all on my "to do" list. I've got a small list of other parts to add, but didn't feel they needed mentioning. Need to fix the valence, remove the fogs and add an "is" lip.

    C & C welcome.

    Thanks,
    Ben

Nice to see you working on the Schnitzer. I was thrown off for a second with deep dish bottle caps on the E30 until i noticed the 5lug. They look nice.

Thanks, surprisingly I am too. Been putting it off for so long that I am just happy to remember where I left off! Those bottle caps are just rollers for rear of the car right now. I've got Momo 16x8s on the Front now to clear the E36 M3 brakes, and some 17x8 et40 Borbet Type E with 235/40/17s RE01Rs waiting to go on next spring.

Nice to see you're picking up time for the E28. And I can't believe it, but this is the first time I've seen anything of your E30. You know I'm jealous of those MHW's!

Thanks. I've been told they are BBS ones and I've never seen a set like it on an E28 or any other BMW.

Thanks man. Gotta get it going sooner than later. I had some homemade red/smoked stuff on there at one point which did not compare to the MHWs. AC Nico may still have a set. ;)

I media/sand blasted it when I first received it from you. I pulled the emblem off and shortly lost interest so I've had it listed up for sale on mye28 for a while. Was thinking about just repainting it before that, but I'm in no hurry to sell it.

Seriously been so jealous of that E28 since I first met you at the Bavauto cruise a couple years back. I had the Alpine E34 M5. Engine looks great and the valve cover looks superb. Any info on the headers?

Thanks man. Love the E34 M5 too, that one is really clean! Headers are Nickel-coated Hartge Replicas made by a fellow out on the west coast. I have no idea if they fit an E34 though. http://www.westcoastcustomparts.com/...46149789763302

Cool, been thinking of looking into headers for the M30, but I've been doing a bit of cylinder head work after initially just planning on changing the gasket. Next year I'd like to get a little forced induction going and I'm not sure if it makes sense to get a set of headers if I'm going to be swapping it out for a manifold. Where in CT are you located? And yes I'm glad you like the M5, me and my old man have been doing some work on her to try and surpass showroom quality... we've got some work to do to say the least.

EDIT: Maybe you should consider painting the intake mani the same color as the VC
