Evolution of my 318iS(56k no way, incredibly pic heavy)

Well I've been a member for quite a while now but don't think I've ever posted many pics of my car.

As the story goes, I bought this car the senior year of high school in '04. It was a bone stock e30 with 134k on the clock. I knew nothing of BMW's at the time and was absolutely thrilled to be purchasing this car. I paid for half, while my parents subsidized the rest as a graduation present. Everything I know now about cars, and all of my current friends were made because of this e30.

Now onto the pics. I surprisingly only have a few from when it was relatively stock. I tinted the tails and threw on a ridiculously ricey sticker on the rear. These pics were taken at Tortilla Flats after a 40 mile off road adventure. Thankfully my car was still 4x4 status at the time and had no problems making it on the dirt roads.

Proof that the m42 can in fact do a decent burnout :shifty

At the end of the trip

Then the modding actually began with an iS lip, redone taillights, and a set of Bilstein sports and an eibach pro kit.

Car actually stayed the same for nearly two years before any more major purchases were made.

    Sometime during 2006

Bimmerfest 2007 all stickered up for our "GruppeAZ rally"

Next came a set of Ronal LS's and a body matched iS lip.

    Rolled over 200k

Destroyed my first lip, went back to a black one and added some euro smiley's with HIDs.

Ditched the euro smiley's(there were depo's) and went to a set of bosch euro ellips which I proceded to smoke.

Also got rid of the stock seats that were replaced by a set of custom upholstered Recaro's out of an Evo VIII.

    At bimmerfest 2009

And this is the car in its current state.

I just rolled over 218k on the clock and the m42 has never ran better. My future plans are coilovers, eventually some different wheels, and my plans for the motor changes every day.

I'd love to do a built m42 and slap a DASC on it, or just bite the bullet and s5x swap, but I love the characteristics of the high strung four banger so much.

Sorry for the photo story, but it feels good to finally post all of these pictures in one place to see just how far my car has come. I've put hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars just to get it to where it is now. But looking back, I wouldn't have it any other way. Every time I walk away from my car, I turn back and realize that I made the right choice buying this car.

I will keep this car as long as I can. I have no reason to sell it or get rid of it even if I do get a new DD. Insurance is cheap, registration is cheap, and it's a blast to drive everyday.
