Yeah i took the weight of and no more knocking! :)Nice catch. I would suggest that you get rims that have the right or a better offset. That looks waaaaaaaay too close to the strut housing and that clip that is hitting it is the weight they (Tire Place) put on to balance the tire and wheel. That is a really nice E30 you have, best of luck and treat her well.
glad it wasnt more serious!
THANKS!
I'll treat her well!!!Leave a comment:

just get the wheels rebalanced with stick on weights-- they sit in the lip- and you will be fine there.
your ugly shifter knob is also installed backwards-- buy a new leather one from bmw- you#ll love it
nice looking car btw.Leave a comment:

Here are some pics of the space between the shock and the rim. I think its a metal cliip on the inside of the rim hitting the shock.
5mm spacers? 8mm?

sounds like the wheelweight, mine was rubbing on the sway one time. same noise, a spacer resolved it.Leave a comment:

I need your guys' help. I posted this as its own topic but ill ask on here too. Hey just got new tires on all fours, but now when I turn right I hear a knocking type noise!. Same size tires as what I previously had on. There was spare tire on the front right when I bought and that where i think the noise is coming from. I have never heard it before though. I was thinking the tire is hitting something. I tried feeling around the tire and didnt feel anything. Turned the wheel all the way to the right still didnt feel rub?
Is it something else on the suspenision?
tires are 205/50/16Leave a comment:
