Carbon Fiber door panels GB install

Well I got the bolts today and went at it.

The mounting kit looks like this

They need to be inserted from the back till the face is out:

The rear should look like this

You have a couple options on were to place them I did the following

Drill out the holes then install and you get this

Fitment is pretty nice but theres one thing I do not like at all:

Its not pleasing to see this but o well I guess this only happens on the street kit and not the race.

Heres the oshitbar moked up for reference

I think Im going to come up with something else for now it stays.

Install was very easy a cavman can do it

    Just a thought:

Why not cut a stock door panel for a fill piece? Basically keep the section from the top where it clips on at the window, down to where the new panel starts.

^ actually that sounds like a pretty good idea. Would take care of the gap problem, plus if u ever rested your arm on the sill it would be all edged like that.

Nice work! Looks like the upper corner is a little tweaked though from the factory door panel pushing in on the CF panel. Perhaps you can add some foam/fiberglass to reshape that area to make it fit nice before you recover it in suede.

I am contemplating a similar approach with mine though I am reluctant to cut up my door cards, I hope to fabricate something to replicate it.

I am also considering something like this:

Our heavy-duty flexible trim covers sharp panel edges to protect wires and hoses from chafing and damage. Installs without adhesive or fasteners.

to trim around the edges and clean it up a bit. Again, this is just a mental exercise. I am overseas and have yet to see the panels in person, just pictures my wife took. Likewise the car is in a barn getting painted so it probably won't be until January before I can try it out.

But I thought I would throw it out there...

You can get tan door cards for dirt cheap or free, chop the bottom off, then wrap in black suede/vinyl.

I personally wouldn't put the oh shit handle on, why not just a strap where the one hole is instead?
