Danse, nice! I am in a very similar automotive situation now that i just picked up a 91 318is. the 318is goes alongside an 89 M3. i'll be making the 318is my semi-daily

Are you on S14.net? if you aren't yet...you should join, then let me welcome you by saying "love your M...but your front ///M badge is a slat too low" hahaha, if you're already there i'm sure you seen that statement everywhere...S14...sticklers for badge placement :-) both look great!

Thanks to all those who welcomed me aboard and some answers

Both cars came with brand new suspension when I bought them.
As of now I have no plans to mod either.
I've been deep down that road before with a 91 M5 and an 95 M3 LWT that ended up as a CM car in BMW club racing. I want another track car and will ultimately buy one that's turn key and ready to roll. There are plenty out there for pennies on the dollar. And from someone who knows it may be fun to do it yourself but you can always buy it for much less already done.

The paint on the M3 is stock, I have a buffer from Griots and with a lot of time and wax got it to how it looks now. It has only 118k on it, the interior is real nice and when I had a leak down and compression test down on the motor it was better than I hoped - 215 PSI across all the cylinders and the leaddown numbers where 4% - 5% so the Motor is in great shape, runs awesome. All Ive done so far is to replace all the fluids with Red Line, along with the alternator and PS pump bushings and enjoy.

I have two sets of BBS Style 5, two piece 17x8's that I'm fixing up (Polished lips, Gold bolts, Nogaro powder coated centers with the very center of the caps chrome plated). They are almost done and look just sooooo nice. One set will be going up for sale real soon, the other is going on the M3.

The 318is is the one that was for sale back in the summer in PA.
I was in the general area on vacation and ended up buying it and driving it home. It is a sweet car that I'm now using as a semi-daily driver. After I got it I installed a mint Posi small case diff to keep it stock, and changed all the fluids to red line. I also added the euro license plate bracket and put a new spoiler on the rear painted black. My long term plan is to hand it over to my son who is now 11 when he gets his license. Imagine being in High School and driving a nice BMW - the chicks will be all over him.

The E30m3 is by far the best BMW I've every owned, no offense to the e36 crowd I owned the king of those with the LWT but the quality of workmanship, engineering, and overall performace of the E30 is far superior.

          Beautiful cars.

Nobody has penned the obligatory "lower it/drop it" post to this thread yet? Or, did I miss it?

                  Lower the M3 why?

Just wondering where it came from that a classic car with great lines looks better lowered??
Sure a nice set of larger diameter 17" wheels with lower profile tires might enhance the overall appearence but I happen to like a car that sits natural.
I'm old enough to remember when it was cool in the 6o's and 70's to jack the suspension up, mostly the rear of the car so the ass end was way up in the air. Now it seems to have gone the other way where a car needs to be slammed to be cool.
Guess I'm just a middle of the road guy
