Who knows honestly, it's been YEARS ago whatever it was, this thing was filthy and it still cleaning up, two full washes later. -
You think someone changed the cowl and door jam vins? Sounds shady.I'm going to have to say it is an M3 that someone cut out the 318 VINs and put them on this car. It does have a stamped 318 VIN on the cowl and the old original '84 318 VIN sticker in the door jam. Who knows, all I know is I can't wait till its broken in so I get it screaming soon!Leave a comment:

i'm shocked that you are still holding to the thought that anything the original poster said was true.
if you stack up all the info presented, everything that's not misinformation or hearsay points to the fact it's an m3.
did you read any of the information posted in this thread by informed people who even own real m3s?Leave a comment:

Good luck with the build man!
Love your Jager 2002. That's quite a catch.
BTW, I guess you've established whether or not it was actually a 318 by now..?Leave a comment:

Haha, it's in good hands now and God's chariot will be well taken care of from here out. I got a deal on it, built a brand new motor, and she screams as of Monday!Leave a comment:

Looks like i finally found some PO pictures! and what a story behind it all. I picked it up for a steal and did it right for the last 10 months.
Here's my progress since then:

Late to the party. I would probably say this has been title washed. It very well could have been a stolen car at one point. There are some things that are clearly M3.
The 3rd brake light is mounted up high. My understanding this was done on M3 due to the tall wing. Others are mounted down low. Correct me if I am wrong. Someone else mentioned the coolant reservior as well and the antena. You would expect this from someone someone doing a full conversion. The cost to do a full conversion IMO is cost prohibative(SP?). It is a detail that would be easy to overlook. I would be pulling off bumpers and checking VIN numbers on all the panels. If they are none to be found I am bet this car was stolen and given a new title long ago.
It reminds me of a thread I read about a guy who bought an M3 that was a re-constructed stolen car. I am not saying it is but there is clearly something up with this.
OP-Those Kosei wheels are not very good. I will be kind and take them off of your hands for $200 shipped.
