The guy is probably bent because he was gonna try and pass this "conversion" off as his own work.Leave a comment:

true.. i've always wished my m3 was actually a 318 with a bodykit.. guess i'm just jealous of the OP. Sorry OP.Guys you don't have to be so gosh darn rude!! Stop accusing the OP of having a legitimate M3!! Just because you wish you could have a frankenstein 318i instead of an M3 doesn't mean you need to put down others who wish the same!!
If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all!!!Leave a comment:

oh, I didn't even notice those fenders.
But "m power" on the valve cover of the engine sitting on the garage floor physically unattached to the car in question was a dead give away for me.
Edit: The fenders do differ from mine now that I take a better look.Last edited by constructor; 01-01-2010, 09:55 AM.Leave a comment:

While we're all throwing out legit ///M discrepancies/concerns - re: the instrument cluster.. does it have an econometer? (rather than //M oil temp gauge)
Every car is the sum of it parts.Leave a comment:

The first rule of holes states, when you discover you are in a hole, stop digging.
The second rule of holes states, When in doubt refer to the first rule!
Maybe someday this guy will figure out the rules of holes.Leave a comment:

My vert was a rare Euro M3 convertible. I was scared of the attention, so I painstakingly converted it to a US spec 325ic to which I then added some Euro parts. It was a labour of love.
I was truly excited to see this.Well my project started life as an 89 318i. It has gone through some various states of modification. And is now about to be finished as an M3. It has had a full conversion (suspension, running gear, and drivetrain) and has been a labour of love since I got my hands on it.
A comment like this before anyone even doubted him. Douche bag.
Was it super super hard?
So did most other M3 owners.
Get the real VIN and do some research before you go embarrassing yourself on the net.Leave a comment:

It's an M3. The shifter console isn't from an older car. The circut breaker wouldn't be there.
Too many things point to the fact that it is an m3 with a 318 title and vin.Leave a comment:

I didn't want to say it but I think it's either a T boned or stolen M3 re-titled as a 318i. Not only is the coolant reservoir there but it has the proper M3 only mounts as well, bonded windshield and M3 A pillar covers, M3 roof antenna, high 3rd brake light but notice the M3-only jack cover in the trunk. Not only does it have the cover but it also has the mount for it...again, only an M3 would have that.
We're just trying to get to the bottom of it and let the original poster know exactly what he has. I would think he'd want to know instead of just going off what the previous owner told him. Besides, if it were a legit conversion as claimed, you'd think there would be tons of pictures of the process. That's really what I was hoping to see.Leave a comment:
