Oh so calling me gay and that MY CAR was actually my gay brothers car was not a personal attack (You F'ing hypocrite).
I know what the specific M parts are and that's why I posted the rear 1/4 shot (they are available but hard to find). Now the rust is only topical as I have taken a wire brush to most of it and the metal comes right back. My posting about my E46 experience was to show that I am not some young guy that has never built a car and that I know what I was talking about. Either way I am done with this place and it's romper room antics. Your loss not mine. I already sent an e-mail to the admins to please erase my account and I am posting it here in an attempt to do the same so if any of you are reading this please grant me my request (Oh and who ever is a mod (or should I say lack there of) way to keep things on topic. Now I know why this is woundeland for a bunch of kids.

Not sure why you're so defensive but year does matter since we never got an 89 318i here in the US and if we did it would have the larger - later taillights. Your car does appear to have certain M3 specific features on the body itself. Do you know what they are? What does you owning a nice E46 M3 have to do with knowing about E30's? I don't see the connection.

There are quite a few M3 owners posting in this thread. Just because it has a NY VIN doesn't mean squat, It might have been a reconstruction or numerous other things.

I don't know where the countless amount of money has been spent but that car is a mess, Good luck with it but I would like to see the vin on the cowl.

So i'm confused. It's a m3 that was re-registered as a 318i? Or do you claim to have installed all of the body panels and somehow managed to install early model tail lights into a late model car? Maybe a link to said "s14.net" thread would help clear some stuff up.

And plus 1 on finding a new shell. There is what looks to be rust all over that thing.

Again as stated I may be off on the year of production by a few but it is the same body style regardless (e30) so that really shouldn't matter should it?
