H&R sports without spring pads pic request

Right now my car sits on H&R OE sports, come spring time I want to go lower. Looking for pictures of people who have these minus spring pads (front and rear) to see how much of a difference it makes. What are my other options, cut a coil? Can this even be done on the rears? Also what are the cons of removing spring pads, more suspension noise? Thanks,

Removing the spring pads or cutting them would be my last choice. Cutting the springs is ghetto to begin with, and the spring pad removal will create more suspension noise and wear to the housing and mount.

You want to go lower, so get some other springs. IE Stage 3 are a little lower, H&R Race are lower, both are stiffer and are fairly inexpensive.

You can always sell these springs after you install your new ones.

Removing spring pads in front will make minimal->no difference. Rears might make a little, but probably around 10mm at most. The pic below has H&R Sports with Bilstein sports and the front spring perch lowered 3/4". Rears have thick ass spring pads in and not removed yet.

From stock, the front had 3mm (top and bottom) for a total of 6mm. Taking into account wear ~2mm total equals about 4mm. Your prolly not gonna notice a big difference. The rears are thinker and you would notice a difference. I would just keep searching the sites to see where you wanna be. Car still looks good. Just stay away from the reverse rake.

Half a coil cut and no pads.

My car is a 318is with the 6cylinder H&Rs so it would be lower on a 325.

^^ What I was looking for, which unfortunately after seen the pic is also not what im looking for when it comes to ride height.

              New question.
Who has the Cup kit and what can you tell me about the ride quality? Too firm for the street?
How does Cup kit compare to IE/H&R race in firmness? I feel like Race springs would be too firm for what I'm looking for.

the cup kit is low but super soft and bouncy. Race springs are definitely what you want

Or Sports (not OE Sports) will give you another 1/2-1" lower. See my sig, I have H&R Sports and Billies with all pads.
But yeah, race are probably what you want...

I have turner j-stocks. They're not too expensive. Handles great too.

I like them, only had them on for 2 months before I put the winters on. Good traction wet and dry, good price, no idea how long they last tho, and being on 17s 215/40/17 they are not too forgiving on crappy roads. I got them at discount tire where they price matched tirerack.com they ended up being 92.50 a tire plus install, hope that helps
