----------------------3rd Update 1/20/10---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SHE LIVES!!! Tranny & Driveshaft fit beautifully and the car is running much much much better now! Just waiting on my Bentley manual to arrive, should be here by Friday, will post another update Sunday night or Monday with all the weekend work that's been done!
----------------------2nd Update 1/19/10---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I found out earlier this afternoon that the 88 325i Auto Tranny I bought can't fit into my 325 because the driveshaft must also be swapped!!! Just sourced out the driveshaft needed from MR 325, hoping to pick it up tonight so I can have the bimmer back on the road by tomorrow afternoon!
----------------------1st Update 1/18/10----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This upcoming weekend I got a lot planned for the E30. I'm gathering all the parts/tools I'll need to complete my tasks. I've just ordered my copy of the Bentley Manual!!! I'm very excited, it should be here by this Friday, I can't wait! Best $35 I've spent so far. Plans for this weekend are:
1. Replace Spark Plugs
2. Service the Radiator
3. De-Grease & Clean Up Engine Bay
4. Full Exterior Detail (Wash, Rubbing Compound, Polish & Wax)
5. Re-Install OE Cassette Radio and Get BMW Radio Code
6. Shadowline the Chrome Trim
7. Clean Up the Carpet and shampoo the Leather
8. Paint Grille Flat Black
9. Get 2 copies of my key and get my AAA Key Card.
10. 1st Photoshoot!!!
All the projects are either inexpensive OR I already have the tools. I don't get paid until the end of the month so more mods will have to wait until then, registration expires 2/16/10 so I gotta prep the car to pass smog. Can't wait to get paid on the 30th so I can drop some more dinero on this baby.

Just picked up this E30 about a week ago as my 23rd birthday gift. Had a transmission with major slip which is why she's in the shop today for surgery lol Original color is silver although it doesn't seem that way from some angles. The car had 2 owners, the first one had it for less than a year. In 1986 at Century BMW in Van Nuys this car was purchased as Certified used car.
She's a project in the making and so far has commanded a large investment so early with this tranny replacement. I'm picking up my copy of the Bentley manual tomorrow so I'm excited to continue working on this car, it seems more DIY-friendly than my last car, a Nissan 200SX. Immediate plans are to finish all basic maintenance to get it to pass smog next month, replace the tires, replace the front brakes, replace the ball joints and bushings, install an aftermarket stereo, get the minor fender dent repaired and have the car repainted in its original color.
