      Gonna need some popcorn...

p.s. Hey OP, the swap works and drives. That's the important part. I'm looking at the pictures and seeing just a plain jane 4 dr E30. Definition of sleeper. Great job, must be REALLY satisfying.

1.) Acquire rare BMW parts from others.
        2.) Sell parts.
        3.) Reap benefits...

            ???

OP, I love the sleeper status, the outside looks clean and the engine bay is propper business. nice work! Plastics and a new set of rollers would totally change the car!

formula driver, I am a mechanic. I love a clean bay as much as the next guy, but my focus in this project was to make it look as if it might have came from the factory with this engine in the bay. Everything works on the car. The only thing I really want to do to the bay is to get a set of 318 wiring covers and figure out an airbox, as I don't like just a cone filter sitting there.

lsdbeaker, this project has been insanely satisfying!!! Other than a few extra hands to physically put the engine in the car, I did the swap myself. I'm kinda sad it is now so complete. Wheels and seats next. Anyone have some 15" BBS' they want to sell me??:D

TDE30, is that list a recommendation? I love rare parts and have a good amount of them for my mk2 GLI...I'm scared to get that ball rolling in the e30 world!!$$$

and just because you left your crapped out M50 dirty in a dirty ass engine compartment-- does not even start to make sense as it looking "stock"- it looks like crap!

Wah wah waaaah. You left yourself so open you could fit a corolla in there.

And then have it fall off the jack.

                              LOL.

Sorry this happened to your thread OP. I like your car, I'm a neat freak and would have cleaned everything(depending on the conditions), but I understand your priorities. I personally love that it looks completely stock. I'm sure it's fun as hell.

                                HAHA, no worries!!

I'll make sure the next thing I do is clean the bay and install some Dinan carbon'er bits. I hear a clean bay and those covers are worth a total of 60 horsepower's!!! Those should put me at S5X sort of power!!;)

I built this car just for fun and did it cheap!! total out of pocket money is around $2500. That includes what I paid for both my e30 and the wrecked e36; suspension(bilsteins and kw springs), tires(rt615's), exhaust, and other odds/ends. This car is not even close to being finished, nor will it ever really be "done." This is my project car.

                                Cheers,
                                Chris
