            i had a similar motor in my 2nd mk1 gti, but with a 2.0 9a block. 16v swaps are sweet, but for pure simplicity & enjoyability, the build 1.8 8v is plenty in that little chassis.

              Exactly. It is simple, and more than enough power to tool around the city in. I am amazed at how fun it is to drive.
