Hey Fellas. Got back into the game with an 1989 325i Red Sedan 5 Speed.
Parts are very far and few here in Albuquerque. Been driving an ‘06 e90, super nice fwy eater.

Here’s how I first got it, rattle canned, to now.
Needs a Starter and a new shifter, think the po put in an e34 shifter? Really long shifts. The tint was some ghetto ass stuff that I think burned into the windows or something that will not clear up (any suggestions?)

A starter is the easiest thing to do on a e30....................... eh .........

so wait did you not hear it run yet ?

and window cleaner and a razor blade..... i would leave it out in the sun to get the glue hot so it comes off easier.

I’ve read the starter is one of the harder job on the e30? No? It starts and doesn’t engage like 1 out of 20 times. Somehow I’ve never done an e30 starter. Done a timing belt and other stuff but not this. I had ordered a starter from ecs tuning but there was a huge delay and had to cancel order.
I scraped the tint with razors and goof off. Done it repeatedly and nothing. Seems to be a yellow residue or film on it. Like a cheap mix of glue and or smoke from the cheap tint? Idk. And believe me it’s been 100+ here and nothing else as far as glue comes off the windows.
