    i like back doors

I'm starting this thread to keep track of my current daily driver project.
The car is a replacement for my crashed 87 325is. It was pretty beat up but I wanted something cheap I could build up into a fun daily. It was leaking every fluid possible and was riding on blown shocks and dry rotted tires. Great start for an e30 project :)

After a few months of work the car is getting better but still needs a lot. The trans and motor both leak and the trans whines loudly even when filled with redline. When I originally drained the fluid there was maybe a 1/4 pint. Hope to take care of all of the above and add a few horsepower with an m50 swap.

    Things done so far:
Timing belt, water pump and cam seals, ignition tuneup, hoses and vac lines, thermostat, etc.
    H&R race + bilstein sports.
Control arms, m3 offset cabs, end links, strut mounts etc.
Steering rack from 99 m3, e36 lemfoerder tie rods.
    BBS RZ378 with 225/50-15 falken 912.
Euro ellips with euro grills and 55w 5k hids.
    MHW smoked turns.
Front euro trim (rear trim going on this weekend hopefully).
    Momo seats.
    Momo competition steering wheel.
Swapped blue cloth for black leather interior with armrest rear seat.
    Luke box.
    Analog clock.
OEM front rotors with hawk hps pads (rears going on shortly).
New (to me) front bumper and valance paint matched to car.
    Supersprint catback.

    Coming soon:
    m50 swap.
    Repaint whole car.
    Paint window trim.

I'm hoping to get some better pictures after washing and waxing this weekend.

Wow, that's an amazing turn-around. Good work saving that car, I am digging the color.

any rubbing issues with the 225's and the h&r race? I have ronals in the size of your RZ's and have been debating on 225.

                        BTW nice car

                            Thanks guys!
I've put a lot of work into it so far, but the best is yet to come.
Color is chipped faded and badly repainted gletscherblau-metallic. It looks good from 10 feet but there are unfortunately many flaws...

I plan on going at it with a clay bar and maybe a buffer if I can get my hands on one. There's some pretty bad oxidation on the roof I need to do something about. Any suggestions for a detailing noob?
