    New project car/track car

Hi! I'm new to r3v and just picked up an e30.

Its in terrible shape. Everything on the car is installed wrong and/or broken besides the head work, header and exhaust. The body is fixable and fairly rust free. some of the electrical works. All the trim is falling off. the steering rack has a dead spot. the bumpers arent painted and are falling apart. the lip was cut too short. every fluid leaks. the front seats are red and the rear seat belts are missing. it hesitates at 3500 rpm. It does have a sweet valve cover now since i had to pull it anyway to fix the gasket leak haha.

right now i'm working on my jetta. I raised the subframe and engine 1.75" and am swapping the rear to irs with front suspension components. In the picture it has 15" BBS but those will go on the e30 and the futuras from the e46 are going on the jetta. I am making custom strut towers and cage and wheel wells to accomodate the futuras on the jetta lower than in that picture. I'm hoping it will tuck the bolts on the lips when i'm done.

Once the jetta is finished i'll be stripping down the e30 and rebuilding it proper with the required parts to make it a autox/track car. If i can find a donor e46 I want to swap in a m54.

Heres a pic of my e46 for fun too.

Nice photos, even the seemingly simple engine bay shot.

Looks to me like you've got the ability to turn this car around and transform it into a real stunner. Can't wait to see progress!

Man that cars been going around. That was my first e30 got it around 2005 and owned it for 2yrs. Did the plastic bumper swap and a few other things then it was owned by someone else who did the suspension and more things to it and then to Alexi which also turned it around.

I was actually thinking about the car the other day thought about getting it back to finish what I never finished. But looks to be in good hands that e46 is nice.

how did it get the car get the black front pieces? was it in an accident? it must have been a little accident since i haven't seen any wrinkles or bent panels anywhere else. and the rear quarters are questionable. some stuff was going on in the inside that makes me think i'm gonna find a bit of filler. its ok though i'm gonna go through it thoroughly.

When I purchased the car the front late model plastic bumper already installed. I also questioned the rear quarters when I had POR15'd the inside of the trunk. As far as the car being hit I was hit once it on the front drivers side which you can see how the fender is off near the grill area.
PM me if you have more questions on the car and I can help you answer the things I know of the car from when I owned it.

here is the buildup thread. there are no pictures of the rear progress though. i wanted to get that closer to finished before i post up pictures instead of a bunch of little steps.
