    God bless the porter cable...

Few quick pics of the detail job I'm doing to a 318is...Just massaged the paint on the drivers side to see what I was going to come out with, the hood was by far the worst part of oxidized paint, and if this half turned out this good I can't imagine what the rest of the car is going to look like. Full pics in the next few days when I finish her up, it clears up outside.

        That looks great!

Find a sealant ASAP, as that will be back to strawberry milkshake in 3 months.

With a decent sealant, you get like 6 months.

Post pics when it is all done

By "sealant", do you mean umm, wax?

I use the griots stuff, but even meguires makes a sealant.

Black or red both need it IMO.

I recently switched away from carnuba based to meguires "tech wax", the stuff is amazing.

sealant and wax arent quite the same, though used for the exact same thing.
sealants tend to last a lot longer than wax. if you take care of your car properly(wax every 2-3 months) the car should always look like that.

i love my porter cable, but only single stage paint will do that with a porter cable. my dual stage took a hell of a lot more.

ha, I love how single stage paint comes right back!

For tired paint like that, 3M Fine Cut rubbing compound will make quick work of the oxidation.

Looks good.. Make sure you clean your pads continuously throughout your detail, makes things much easier. As far as sealants go, for durability check out collinite's stuff. It's extremely durable, very easy to use and also pretty cheap.
