Nah just hold it at 2 - 2.5k. The thermostat's gotta crack open, though.Leave a comment:

Bouncing between 1k and 3k you think? Or just hold at 2k?Yeah, the M20 cooling system nearly bleeds itself since the recovery tank is nearly at the highest point. It really helps to drill that little hole in the thermostat. Otherwise you will have to allow it to crack open by itself, which isn't always easy to do with air in the system.
I'd try a fast idle, neighbors be damned for a short while.Leave a comment:

I'm facing this problem right now. People say different things (just let it idle with the reservoir cap open, burp the hoses with the car off, rev it, etc), but supposedly if you drill a hole at the top of your thermostat it makes it a lot easier (as obviously the tstat will never be fully closed).Leave a comment:

you need to find a way eo open the cooling system at its highest point. Dont know what your setup is tho so that s all i can say.Leave a comment:

Hokay, here is what I just did:
Started the car and let it idle. squeezed the upper radiator hose a bunch of times but it started getting really hot so I shut it down. Felt the lower rad hose and it felt normal, maybe the tstat hadn't opened up yet?Leave a comment:

Can anyone give me the run down for bleeding the coolant system with no bleeder screw? Keep in mind I'll be doing this open header.Leave a comment:
