I like hearing stories of people getting back in the saddle after so long.

Thanks, Buyer. When I was rolling on the highway with some luggage in the front seat and hearing noise I missed the 540, but anytime something goes wrong or I visit the pump I'm happy with my choice.

And it wasn't as good as it sounds 619. My cousin bought the car in texas and put ~200k on it in NJ and PA. When I got it it'd been sitting about 6 years and was beat to hell. I replaced both fuel pumps, tons of small parts. I finally had it running, but the ecu was damaged from a water leak, and the rear brake line snapped. I laid on gravel for about a month trying to get the rusted rear pressure check to budge and quit on it. I sold it for a wad of 20s to a guy that used the motor for an '02 proj. I used the $ for my then new 89 525 and a date. As for the body, we could be drinking mt dew out of it right now.

But, I did have a handy stash of parts from it for this one. Kidneys, wires, pressure pump that works if you beat it, owner's manual. Packrat is a handy thing when you're a broke car guy haha.

Old thread is old. Bumping it back up now that my summer has started. I'm working as of yesterday and should be able to start dumping money into it the first of June. Stereo, paint, gaskets and wear items. The car has been going strong so far. Fuel consumption is a little low for an M20, but theres a massive vac leak somewhere and the thermostat is out for now. It also has a habit of not turning over when the temperature rises. Cranking it once with the main relay out solves the problem. I wanted an E30 for the character, right haha.

The speedo stopped working today. No response from it or fuel gauge. If I press reset on the average mph I get a solid 0. Ideas? I'm thinking bad plug in the diff. Its also raining like hell today.
