Just be careful how you go about adding power. With too much extra weight over the nose you will really miss the turn-in and general [steering/suspension] feel of the M42. That's the whole reason I regret selling mine and keeping all of my 6-cylinder cars. They call it the baby M3 for a reason.
it definitely can be more fun driving an underpowered car... however the maintenance and cost-> benefit ratio of doing the timing chain or replacing the motor is really a big factor for me.

haha thats why im goin with a BALLIN ass suspension setup :D
I'm also thinking of further upgrades to suspension and brakes before ever attempting to add more power; not doing so just seems like a recipe for disaster. lets talk pricing...is your motor going to cost less than timing maintenance shipped?

Just so you know-- this car was owned by my boss and serviced at our shop prior to Bloodshot buying the car. When it came in the deflector pulley had broken off the inner cover. That was replaced along with the guides, tensioner, and I believe the chain as well. The timing chain service normally runs about $1k. Parts alone are very expensive. I can vouch for the fact that all of the best stuff was installed while doing the service.

That said, I won't comment on the actual value of any used M42. Just wanted to let you know what the timing chain maintenance costs.

                                im bolting it up today!
its held on by 2 bolts instead of 4 and it should have very good clearence considering its only 7.5" inches wide! will take some pictures as i find out what all is needed for it to fit!
