my friend had one and he hated it, put so much money into it and sold it for less what he paid for it.

1.bitch on gas
2.V8= bitch to maintain
3. front suspension sucks
4.dont expect a tranny to last u more 100k miles
5.shitty coolant system replacement every 50k miles
6.tires wear out so fast
7.boring car to drive

i could go on and on. :finger:

1.19-20mpg is good imo...and 24 highway is good as well
2.yes you have to do valley pans and the vanos motors had an issue with the guide rails...so did e39 540's
3.so does e39,e32,e34...anything with thrust arms.. mine was replaced 10k ago...and im sure in 80k i can afford to rebuild the entire suspension for $800
4.people with over 200k on them...mine has 131
5.yes...and been done
6.no, check alignment and trust arms
7.no

haha no they are cheap as shit now...i just really like the lines of them... my favorite cars besides e30's ...they do have some issues like you said, i mean they blow through coolant expansion bottles and the car was fuckin $80,000 new thats fuckin redic...but they really arent too horrible, no different then any bmw hahah

Huh, must be that initial taking a shit of the coolant system and susp that motivates people to sell. I know a couple very successful older guys that have bought these new and ended up selling because they can't keep them out of the shop (nothing to do with cost, everything to do with wanting a car). One bought a 335i, one an A8.

its because no one wants to do the work...a different class of people buy e39's if you know what i mean...and like you said older people with money buy 7's and freak because they blow a coolant hose hahah
