Wow that really blows. Heck my car is 1.0 shy of being classed in CSP on street tires. I get to run DSP with my mods. I guess it's time to get sticky tires or become a smoother driver.
Are you sure about that Greg? You can't jump classes like that. You can go vertically from street prepared to prepared for example, but not horizontally between DSP and CSP.
Greg is probably making reference to a lot of those screwy pseudo-rules that various BMWCCA chapters use where they mish-mash the SCCA class system with an incredibly homosexual "points" system of mods and classes. It's the sort of system where harnesses are worth more "points" than r compounds or a coil over suspension.
I suppose that's one of the few things I actually like about the SCCA.
Had a lot of fun. Got second in my class by .2 second behind an Integra with R-compounds.
I should be surprising him next month with a set of Hoosier's......
Do NOT put Hoosiers on that car with your soft springs and bad bushings. The combination will make it handle unpredictably and may cause it to add itself to the list of E30's that have rolled over at autocrosses around the country. Get the suspension stiffened up before running grippy race tires.
