Yup, E36 M3 is for sale. Keeping the E30 as the garage queen and the SE-R winter beater / backup daily. And thanks!
It looks worse than it is, because I have 15mm spacers in the back and nothing in the front yet (will be next week, just waiting to get my spacers back from a friend). It's actually 235 front 255 rear, so the stagger isn't bad. The car rotates willingly in 3rd though, so yeah big rear rubber is necessary. Thanks for the compliments.
You know I expected the rasp to be worse, given the E46 M3s I always hear. But the Coupe/Roadster's better midsection and mufflers subdue the sound plenty. I really like the way it sounds! Thanks though.
LOL, I totally saw them and pondered. If they were anything but black I might have been tempted.
198k. Yup, and it's still one of the best condition S54s, let alone M Roadsters, that I've ever seen. The sole previous owner, a woman, was meticulous on maintenance. She's also an event coordinator for a Z club, cool chick!
LOL! I can't believe you remember that video. I should, you're right.
Thanks for the kind words guys.Comment

Time to start searching for a hardtop while they are somewhat common. There was one FS in the Boston area. Never mind it's gone just looked for it and listing was deleted.Comment

I kept the wheels from the E36 if that's what you're wondering. ;) Zimmie found some info about converting them to 3-pc and having them widened...I'm broke for now but it's on the agenda!
Greg, thanks but I actually turned down a factory hardtop that the car was selling with. I'm the type that believes in two types of weather: it's either raining or the top is down. Hardtops aren't my thing, I bought a convertible to use it at full blast. :)
freeride I have the exact same models, but in Dakar and Titanium! Probably got both when I was...15? It's been a long obsession with this car for me.
Oh, and I did this on the weekend:
2200mi in 3 days, Deals Gap FTW!Comment

Nice buy. This is what I am trading my Lotus in for. I'm all about worst case scenario for autocross cars.Comment

Lotus to M Roadster is a strange move! I consider this car, especially the S54 version, to be the modern Cobra. Super low beltline, long hood, ludicrous power....Lotus stands for the opposite of that. lolComment

I couldn't agree more. I'm not a die-hard Lotus guy and I think the novelty has worn off. The M Roadster meets so many more needs as in it's more comfortable for long drives, the top actually keeps water out and most importantly, there is better aftermarket support. The Lotus forum guys are nothing less than oblivious too...
M Roadster all the way.Comment

Nice, I can agree with that. After 12-20 hours of continuous driving per day for 3 days straight (1 day heading down, 1 day enjoying Deals and the surround roads, 1 day coming back) I have no muscle or joint soreness at all. Somehow those narrow Roadster seats are more supportive than either my E30 sport seats or my E36 M3's Vaders, which is a great bonus.Comment
